Can I add to my insured trip costs as I make more trip payments.

People often book one major part of a trip prior to others. (ie booking the land arrangements long before booking flights).

The sooner you purchase a trip protection plan, the more it can cover, as there are time-sensitive benefits that can be applied (ie coverage for pre-existing conditions, optional Cancellation for Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade *if eligible). Plus, coverage isn't effective until the day after the policy purchase.

You can purchase a policy after you make your initial nonrefundable trip costs, and then when you make subsequent trip payments - book additional flights, tours, payments to your travel planner, etc - you can reach out to have our Support Team assist you with adding insured trip costs to your policy (additional plan costs will apply, as the plan costs are partly determined by the insured trip costs). We can also assist you with making other policy changes, such as trip dates, as long as you make the request prior to your trip Departure.

See related articles below with guidance on Modifying an Existing Policy and Time-Sensitive benefits.

If you make any additional trip payments, please remember to add those costs to your existing policy at the time of, or very soon after you make each subsequent trip payment. This better ensures that you maintain eligibility for the applicable time-sensitive benefits. We recommend doing so within 10 days of that date that you make each subsequent trip payment.
