The optional Cancellation for Any Reason “CFAR” Upgrade benefit is available on some of the trip protection style plans that include the trip cancellation benefit. In the Wanderwell pathway, this is accessed by clicking the checkbox next to the "Add Cancel for Any Reason" in the quote results box. (See sample below)
When you purchase this added benefit, you can cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by the standard policy. For instance, if you change your mind and decide you no longer want to travel, you are scared to travel, etc.
When adding the Cancellation for Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade option to the trip protection plan, If You cancel Your Trip for any reason not otherwise covered by this Policy, the Company will reimburse you for the percentage (up to 75%) of the pre-paid, forfeited, non-refundable Payments or Deposits You paid for Your Trip shown on the Schedule of Benefits provided:
- You purchase the upgrade with the initial policy AND within the time-sensitive period* (# of days) from the initial trip payment/deposit of any kind for the insured trip; and
- You Cancel Your entire Trip with your travel suppliers two (2) days or more before your scheduled departure date.
*Notes:
- Wanderwell GO plan purchases made on or after June 30, 2026:
- The time-sensitive period is 14 days for residents of all states except for Missouri & Oregon
- The time-sensitive period is 21 days for residents of Missouri & Oregon
- Wanderwell OnTour plan made on or after June 30, 2026:
- The time-sensitive period is 10 days for residents of all states except for Missouri & Oregon
- The time-sensitive period is 14 days for residents of Missouri & Oregon
- The optional Cancellation for Any Reason upgrade option is not available to residents of NY or WA.
- The optional Cancellation for Any Reason upgrade option is not available for travel with Israel in the itinerary.
- Wanderwell does not offer the optional Cancellation for Any Reason upgrade if you are within fifteen (15) days or less from your departure date.
