Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense benefit

The Emergency Accident & Sickness Medical Expense benefit is designed to reimburse you for Covered Medical Expenses for Necessary Treatment of an Accidental Injury or a Sickness that occurs while on your trip. Medical expenses incurred after you return from your trip are not covered.

Coverage for Medical Expenses can include the following: 

  • medical services, treatments, anesthetics, x-ray examinations,  laboratory tests, supplies, prescription drugs, and therapeutic services ordered or prescribed by a Physician as medically necessary
  • Hospital, Urgent Care, or ambulatory medical-surgical center services
  • emergency dental treatment

Note:

  • Covered Medical Expenses will only be payable at the Usual and Customary level of charges.
  • Expenses provided by another party at no cost to you or already included within the cost of your trip, are not covered.
  • Benefits can be paid for covered reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in your Schedule of Benefits*
