Missed Connection benefit

In a trip protection style travel insurance plan, the Missed Connection benefit is designed to reimburse you if you miss your Cruise or tour departure, scheduled during your insured trip, that results from the cancellation or a delay of all regularly scheduled airline flights due to a covered event listed in the policy certificate.

Items that can be reimbursed for are:

  • additional transportation expenses needed for you to join your departed Cruise or tour
  • unused, pre-paid nonrefundable payments or deposits for your trip insured under your policy

Some examples of covered Missed Connection Events could mean the following unforeseen events*:

  • an officially documented delay of Your Common Carrier
  • severe weather preventing you from arriving at the point of departure for your trip
  • quarantine, hijacking, strike, natural disaster, terrorist incident
