The Trip Delay benefit has a per-day maximum and a per-trip maximum to reimburse for Covered Trip Delay Expenses if you are delayed, while coverage is in effect, en route to or from the Trip due to a defined Hazard (refer to your policy certificate for a list of defined Hazards). This benefit is triggered when the delay is beyond a specific amount of hours.
It is possible for the Trip Delay benefit to be combined with the Trip Interruption benefit and the Missed Connection benefit.
